Mission
Long Island born.
Built by a Long Island beach guy who got tired of the drag.
Chris Walsh built SandySled after years of dragging loaded coolers and family gear through soft sand—usually with wheels that became useless the moment the pavement ended.
But the idea came from something deeper. Chris grew up watching his dad invent, take risks, and pursue ideas of his own. His dad held two patents and tried to bring one invention to market. It never took off, but the experience showed Chris that failure was survivable—and that some ideas are still worth chasing.
After his dad passed, Chris became the one responsible for moving the family's gear during their annual week in Montauk. By the second summer doing it alone, he knew there had to be a better way.
He went into the basement, pulled out his dad's old tools, and started building. After months of trial and error, that work became SandySled.
